Season Newsletter

Hopefully all of the April showers will subside and result in beautiful May flowers, greens, fairways and tee boxes.  All of the aeration is finished so things will begin to shape up on the course. Chris Heslin and his crew are finishing up the upgrades to holes 3, 6 and 7 and will be trimming and pruning everything to perfection.

Please keep in mind that replacing divots and repairing ball marks go a long way to keeping the course beautiful, something from which we all benefit.  

FREE Introduction to Golf Fitness Seminar  – Tuesday May 24th

1st Tee Fitness in conjunction with the teaching staff here at SLCC will be conducting a Free seminar on Golf-Specific Exercises Training and the Body/Swing Connection.  The Seminar will be held at 7:00 PM in the Merrywood Cottage.  

The speakers, Rich and Jay Greco, are both Physical Therapists and certified by the Titleist Performance Institute as Golf Fitness Instructors.  Come see how your body may be effecting your swing and ultimately your scores.  

Attendees will be screened to determine physical limitations and also receive exercises to help their golf game.  

Contact the Pro Shop to secure your spot.  Space is limited.  

A friend of ours and a student of Michael Hebron’s, Anthony Scorscia is hosting a new golf radio show on Saturday mornings from WGGB AM 1240 at 7:00AM.  Tune in to hear tips and the latest golf stories.  Michael Hebron will be one of Anthony’s first guests.  

Lessings is offering their “Annual Mother’s Day Brunch” on Sunday May 8th @ here at the club.  Please see attached flyer for details!

Early in the year, it is good to check your grips and see if they need to be replaced.  If we don’t have the grips you want , we can normally get the grips the next day and have the grips done in a few days.

 

We will be open on Monday, May 9th.  Aside from holiday Monday’s, this is our last Monday being open for a while.  

We will be offering a free junior golf club fittings on Saturday afternoon, June 4th from 2:00-4:00.  No appointment is necessary, just come on down and we will check to see if your children fit their clubs or if you need new clubs.

During the month of May we will continue the promotion to receive a 10% discount on all clubs, shoes and golf bags in stock!  We will meet or beat Golfsmith and Dick’s prices an all new equipment and add this 10% discount on top!  Print this page and bring it in for the discount.
